About

The Vilnius Book Fair is the largest book fair in the Baltic countries, one of the brightest cultural events in Lithuania. This event, promoting reading and celebrating it, annually invites visitors from all over Lithuania to meetings with authors, book presentations, discussions, concerts, exhibitions, creative workshops, and other cultural activities.

Every year, about 300 publishers and other cultural organizations from Lithuania and foreign countries participate in the fair. Over 500 various events and concerts take place, and during the four days of the fair, it is visited by more than 50 thousand visitors.

News and Guests

Books often arrive at the fair straight from the printing press. Readers have the opportunity to purchase the latest works of Lithuanian and foreign writers first. A longstanding tradition of the fair is to get an author’s autograph at the events. Publishers invite special guests to the fair, about whom information is announced at the end of the year.

Discussions

As always, discussions on relevant topics are organized by the DISCUSSION CLUB: artificial intelligence and the world it creates, art and propaganda, not forgetting the ongoing war in Ukraine. Attention will also be paid to differently-abled readers in collaboration with the Lithuanian audio sensory library.

Young Readers’ Room

Visitors of the Young Readers’ Room will be delighted by the abundance of new books at the publishers’ stands and various creative activities. In the room, there will be an open LIBRARY SPACE created by Lithuanian librarians, children’s book creators will invite to workshops in the CREATIVE SPACE WITHOUT FORMULAS. At the YOUTH POINT, participants can engage in discussions about the most pressing issues. The youngest readers will be greeted by the creators of the cozy BOOK START corner.

Amphitheater

This is not a new room, just a different name for the former Cinema hall located in Hall 1. Not only the name changes but also the concept of the hall – in 2024, during the Vilnius Book Fair, it will host literary, musical, and performative events.

Music Hall

As every year, you can expect a unique program and a space that captivates with its content, organized by the AGATA association, bringing together a multitude of Lithuanian musicians under one roof. It is the largest fair of Lithuanian music production with dozens of concerts, discussions, and meetings.
