Rein Raud (b. 1961)
One of the most renowned contemporary Estonian writers and public intellectuals, cultural theorist, and translator. Debuting as a poet in 1981, he is now the author of eleven novels, five poetry collections, and numerous scholarly books and articles, with international recognition. He has translated countless texts from Japanese, Italian, Lithuanian, English, and German. His books have been honored with the highest Estonian literary awards and have been translated into thirteen languages. In 2024, his novel „Maro traukinys“ received the Baltic Assembly Literature Award.
Laureate of the Estonian National Award (2022).
„Tobulo sakinio mirtis“ / „Death of the Perfect Sentence“ (the book will be presented at the Vilnius Book fair) – is already Reino Raud’s fourth novel published in Lithuanian.
